Kara 2024

Kara Knudsen

Kara Knudsen grew up just down the road from Rosehall on a property, so agriculture has always been engrained into her genetics. She even married the boy down the road.

She is heavily involved in the organising of community events and enjoys the satisfaction of being involved in the shaping of the future of the beef industry. The Nuffield scholarship she completed in 2013 will forever be one of her proudest achievements which put her on a global journey of discovery through the agri-industry.

As much as she is most at home on a horse, charging to the front of the lead on a mob of cattle, she is equally as comfortable in the office crunching numbers or strategizing the way forward for the business.

Darcy Knudsen

Darcy Knudsen, Kingaroy-born and raised on the land, is a 3rd-generation beef grazier with an absolute wealth of knowledge and involvement in the Australian agricultural industry.

Having come from a family with horses on both sides, he has always had a strong affinity for the Australian farming lifestyle.

From a stint in the United States, where he was mustering and carrying out maintenance, to working on a corn and rice farm in his earlier years, to relining ball mills in Egypt, he has immeasurable hands on experience and know-how that flows into the day-to-day running of Knudsen Cattle.

Tom and Jack

Tom and Jack have grown up on Rosehall and work alongside their parents as they learn the business of raising beef cattle.

When he’s not in the yards or mustering, Tom works his dogs on the property and indulges in his passions for photography and electronics.

Jack is a keen horseman, working the animals on Rosehall and competing in local camp drafts. He enjoys all that country life has to offer.

Leadership Team

Megan Hyde

Megan Hyde

Megan joined Knudsen Cattle in April 2024 and comes to us with a wealth of experience in the agricultural sector having obtained a Degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Queensland. Coupled with her ongoing professional development by completing a Diploma of Business Marketing and Communication, Megan is the perfect mix to provide executive and personal support to Kara and Darcy.

Megan’s can do attitude and willingness to give anything a go means she’s just as comfortable in the boardroom as she is in the cattle yards so you will often see her supporting Kara out and about from the Toowoomba office where she works with the agri-business support team.

With a love for travel, Megan is always planning her next adventure whether it be across Australia or abroad and has a passion for living sustainably.

Jarrod

Jarrod Cook

Jarrod Cook is our Operations Manager whose adoration for the production of beef cattle had him join the Knudsen Cattle team in 2021. After eleven years of working on cattle stations throughout Queensland and New South Wales, and owning and operating a horse training business, Jarrod picked up the tools to complete a boiler-making apprenticeship and enjoyed a stint in the raw materials sector, before returning to his passion of Australian Agriculture.

To enhance his theoretical knowledge, Jarrod completed an advanced Dual Diploma of Agribusiness and Agriculture through the University of Queensland and was proudly awarded a Nuffield Scholarship in 2023. Alongside his partner Jade, and their young son, Harvey, Jarrod aspires to proactively encourage others to lay their roots in a rewarding and challenging career in Agriculture.
