Husband and wife team, Kara and Darcy, are also business partners and both have a strong link to the cattle industry through their respective families.

Darcy is a third generation cattleman and until 2009 was involved with his own family‚Äôs successful cattle operation and these experiences stood us in good stead when in 2004 we purchased our first property. Darcy also has a Certificate III in Engineering (Steel Fabrication) and he has a hands on approach to the business. In the 1990’s he travelled to the USA and worked on a ranch, he also worked in Western Australia driving trucks for a mining company. Darcy’s area of expertise is technology and infrastructure, most of which he installs or fabricates himself or in conjunction with others. Constantly seeking new ways to improve the property, Darcy has a strong connection with the land and prides himself on the condition of the land he manages and the legacy he wants to leave his children.

Kara is a fourth generation food producer, having been heavily involved with her family’s (Ross and Kay Vander Have) beef cattle operation since leaving school. Kara has been involved in leadership roles, and recently she chaired a successful Meat Profit Day at Eidsvold in in 2011. In December 2012 Kara was part of Target 100’s virtual farm in Martin Place in Sydney, this featured consumers being able to come and ask questions to Kara about farming and it was broadcast on a large TV in the central area of Martin Place. Kara is an active advocate for agriculture and the beef industry and is available for public speaking opportunities. Please contact her for further information.
Kara has specific interest in accelerating genetic progression, has extensive knowledge of business, particularly in relation to agribusiness.
